A QSERP is one of the names given to the strategy of shifting accrued or future benefits from a SERP to a qualified retirement plan (other names include SERP-Shift and MaxQual). This allows immediately deductible contributions, tax-free accumulation, protection from creditors, and the ability to roll over amounts later to an IRA.
