A term used in connection with a change of control (e.g. a merger or acquisition). A double trigger is a provision in an NQDC plan requiring two events, rather than just one, to occur before the distribution of your NQDC payments after a change in control. The first trigger might be the change in control itself, and the second trigger might be some type of termination.
